Medical technology company Bibb Instruments has received a Notification of Grant from the Chinese patent authority CNIPA for a patent within the company’s second EndoDrill patent family. After completed administrative formalities, the patent provides protection in China until 2040, according to a press release.The new patent strengthens protection for the company’s motor-driven biopsy technology and means that all three EndoDrill patent families now have granted patents in China. The company already has patent protection in, among other places, Europe, the US, Japan and India."The positive outcome of the Chinese patent review further strengthens our global intellectual property platform around EndoDrill", says CEO Fredrik Lindblad. He points to China as an important long-term commercial market for the technology.
