Finwire about MoveByBike Europe AB: Movebybike after record month: "We have carried out around 15 percent of the volume increase" - CEO

The logistics and transport company Movebybike set a new volume record in August with just over 95,000 deliveries. Despite the increase, CEO Fredrik Videlycka assesses that a large part of the communicated expansion with Airmee still remains. The number of deliveries rose by 15.5 percent from July and 33 percent compared with August last year. Stockholm accounted for 49,934 deliveries, Malmö for 34,905 and Copenhagen for 10,362.The development coincides with the gradual launch of the expansion together with Airmee. According to Videlycka, around 15 percent of the communicated volume increase has been implemented so far.- This means that a significant part of the ramp-up remains, Fredrik Videlycka tells Finwire.Movebybike has not communicated any specific monthly volume at full rollout, and Videlycka does not want to set a new forecast. However, the expansion is expected to entail a significant increase in operations, particularly in Stockholm. What does capacity utilization look like after the latest volume increase?- We are expanding capacity in line with the increase in volumes. This means that we can grow substantially without the organization and our overhead costs having to increase at the same pace.During the year, the company has worked to increase scalability, including through internally developed AI tools. Operational capacity, primarily drivers and vehicles, is continuously adjusted to volumes. The company describes organic demand as remaining strong. A large part of historical growth has come from existing customers, where Videlycka sees continued significant room for growth. How far that growth can be driven depends, among other things, on how large a geographic area Movebybike can cover efficiently by bicycle in each city and on the company continuing to deliver a level of quality that leads customers to expand their partnerships. In parallel, Movebybike is building stronger commercial capabilities to supplement growth from existing customers with new business.Geographically, the focus is primarily on Stockholm and Copenhagen. In Stockholm, the company has established another site during the year and is now scaling up operations, while Copenhagen is described as a market with significant untapped potential.- Our focus right now is primarily on getting more out of the infrastructure and organization we already have rather than establishing ourselves in a large number of new cities. The expanded sales effort in Denmark is still in its start-up phase and, according to Videlycka, is too early to evaluate based on realized sales.- However, we are already seeing a good response from the market and clear interest in the discussions we have initiated. This strengthens our view that Copenhagen has significant potential for us.
