The med-tech company PolarCool AB (publ.) has signed an agreement with Finnish Liiga club Ilves for the implementation of PolarCap® as part of the club’s concussion management protocol.
The agreement further strengthens PolarCool’s presence in Finland’s top division, Liiga, where the company already collaborates with Rauman Lukko and KalPa. With Ilves joining, PolarCool now partners with three of the league’s 16 teams.
PolarCool maintains a strong market position within professional ice hockey across Europe, with agreements in all major leagues. In addition, the company holds a league-wide agreement in the Czech Republic, providing all teams in the top division access to PolarCap®.
PolarCool CEO Erik Andersson comments:
-It is very encouraging to see the implementation of PolarCap® growing within European ice hockey. The agreement with Ilves, together with our existing Finnish agreements, further strengthens our position in Finland. With club agreements in all major European leagues, we see strong potential for further growth.
The agreement with Ilves means the club will use PolarCap® for the remainder of the current season during an initial evaluation period, with the option to continue under a two-year commercial agreement following the evaluation. The agreement is strategically important, even though the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
