Finwire about Absolicon Solar Collector AB: UN agency grants funding to project involving Absolicon

The UN agency UNIDO has granted funding to the project ”Coal Zero by Green Steam,” in which the solar energy company Absolicon will deliver a 1.4 MW solar thermal field in South Africa valued at approximately SEK 9 million, according to a press release.The entire project amounts to $2.95 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 26.5 million, and combines solar thermal, energy storage, and other technology to deliver low-carbon process steam to the food industry. Revenue recognition for Absolicon is expected to occur gradually over approximately 18 months from the planned start of construction in spring 2026, and the company may, under certain conditions, finance up to 20 percent of its costs.
