Finwire about Zenith Energy Ltd: Zenith Energy acquires two solar projects in Italy – increases portfolio to 163.5 MWp

Zenith Energy has acquired two agrivoltaic solar projects under development in the Piemonte region in Italy, with a planned installed capacity of approximately 23 MWp and 5 MWp, respectively."This represents the single largest solar acquisition we have carried out since we began our expansion in the solar sector," notes CEO Andrea Cattaneo in a press release. The acquisitions are part of the company's target to build a solar pipeline of over 200 MWp by the end of 2026. Following the transaction, Zenith's total development portfolio in solar amounts to approximately 163.5 MWp, equivalent to about 82 percent of the target. In connection with the projects, the company has also secured land for an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) of 5 MW, intended to optimize energy distribution and support the local power grid. The projects are in the development phase and are expected to reach Ready-to-Build status in March 2028. The total purchase price amounts to just over EUR 2 million and will be paid only when all permits have been obtained and the projects have reached RtB status.Zenith thus has approximately 100 MWp of solar projects under development in Piemonte, which strengthens the company's regional cluster strategy. Italy is described as one of the leading markets globally for agrivoltaic technology, which combines agriculture and solar energy production for more efficient land use.
